I don't know why people are jumping to the conclusion the fan inside the Switch 2 dock is for streaming to the console Wii U-style. For all we know it's simply to cool off the device when it is docked because it is overclocking more than the first Switch did in that configuration (which is what the previous specs leaks implied).
Local streaming might end up being a Switch 2 feature, but the fan inside the dock is not the smoking gun people think it is.

Original switch saw improvement in docked mode when people added new thermal paste and custom fan arrangements. It’s more likely just better cooling for Switch 2 when in docked mode. Be nice if it was some wireless streaming tech.

$30 million in marketing for Borderlands is pretty generous. I wouldn't be surprised if the actual number was much higher. No idea who thought that movie was a good idea. PG-13 for a game series in which pretty much every problem is solved through killing? Yeah, what could possibly go wrong?

I’m more than happy that Tango landed on their feet for the most part, and hopefully they can continue to innovate whichever lane they choose to drive in next.

Increased power draw and a fan in the dock point more towards hardware boosting when docked than wireless docking capability. Wireless docking sounds like a terrible idea that would only truly get utilized by first party titles and would be riddled with latency issues as the system and controllers age. Hardware boosting on the dock and allowing devs to make docked only games which they have already done is how they compete with their next console.

Wouldn’t it make more sense that the fan is just meant to cool down the system in docked mode? Especially if they’re aiming for higher clock speeds and the charging cable delivers double the power

The fan in the dock is to keep the outside of the console cooled not to put more air into it. Nintendo doesn't want people grabbing a warm/hot console when picking it up.

Don't personally have a horse in this race when it comes to Tango games and the Hi-Fi Rush game, as I have not played it yet... but hoped I would if it came to Switch or something... having said that, I am happy for all those who were gutted from the original announcement of their closure and the potential end of the Hi-Fi Rush series.

I will say for the duel screen gaming I liked when the menu was on the secondary screen so there was less back and forth pulling up screens while playing a game.

It's actually worse for Borderlands - movies typically have to double their budget to break even after you factor the cuts given to theaters, distributors, etc.

Folks posted pictures of their Switches *bending* from the heat sitting in the dock. I don't think it's a widespread issue, but it does exist. Between that and nearly every indication the Switch 2 will clock higher when docked for 4K support, and the fans make sense without suggesting a wireless HDMI or wireless dual screen console.

IMO the best uses for a 2nd screen is a map/inventory screen it is just so much more convenient
