The failure at West Brom definitely switched his mindset and he wanted to prove everyone wrong. A lot of players would of went the other way. Fair play to him.

So much more to a player's performance levels than their footballing ability alone. Sometimes players and clubs just don't click for whatever reason; sometimes the player's confidence is absolutely shot in the time he's there. Location, mindset, family, relationships, friends, fitness, stability in their careers... It all has an effect. Quite evident that a reality-check and a move back home did Gnabry the world of good.

We had Theo Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain ahead of him. Wenger even played Ramsey at RW. He was a kid that needed game time. We couldnt give it to him

Loved having Tony at West Brom. Proper manager 👏 All downhill since

Would love to hear Serge Gnabry's say one day to and we could put this all to bed. Would be really interesting I think.

I saw Gnabry subbed on in his PL debut for West Brom live on TV and he was great. As exciting as he was efficient. Yet he never made another PL appearance. I believe Pulis brought him in to use as defensive training against tricky skilful wingers in game.

I'm not exactly a Pulis fan, but it's unfair to lay the blame on him.

Everyone conveniently forgets Gnabry wasn't good enough to play for Arsenal at the time and wasn't deemed good enough for Arsenal to keep when someone wanted to buy him.

Love Pulis. Would love to see him back at his second home, Stoke City in some form ❤

It’s so worrying how many people work like crazy to make it as a player and then get a decent contract and slack off. I reckon managing young millionaires is the hardest part. Motivating them.

I don’t believe a word he says. Bouldy said he’s just not worked out here, struggled badly, it’s make or break? Arsene doesn’t see him as part of the club? Nah no chance. Stories were that Wenger wanted him to sign a new contract. I personally was calling for him to start for us before he was sent on loan, because every time he came on he was superb. Him and Ozil were clearly a partnership worth building upon. I hated Arsenal for this, even before he made a single appearance for West Brom, never mind Bremen or Bayern

Gnabry only left Arsenal because he was tapped up by Bayern (after seeing him star in a tournament for Germany U21's) whilst in his final year of contract. Wenger came out after the sale and said that Bayern sanctioned the sale through Werder Bremen. So how did Gnabry go from not performing well in training for West Brom to being scouted/tapped up by Bayern in a few months?

Pulis is lying through his teeth here because there’s no way Bouldy said that about Gnabry because I remember this period of time when Gnabry was 18/19 was our best prospect at the time and had already made an impact on the 1st team and bagged a goal against Swansea so Pulis is trying save face with BS explanation, he just wasn’t good enough to coach him. Micheal Owen even said he held the training sessions he had every experienced when he was at Stoke. The truth of the matter is, is that Tony Pulis is an old school who isnt used to a certain of technical european player like Gnabry because lets face it, he isnt a very modern manager. He was probably the worse manager a player like Gnabry could go just based off his brand of football. I think things like this is why Pulis was nail in the coffin for the Tony Pulis’ of the world when it came to management, the game has moved past him and Big Sam. There’s no coincidence that Gnabry has gone to acheive what he did. Pulis probably doesn’t even understand the champions league let alone know what its like to win it.

Clearly Arsenal sent him out to Pulis, to act as a boot camp and toughen him up ready for league football and must have expected him to start more given his talent.
It didnt work out for any of them, player, or either club.
It happens.

Tony Rugby Union Pulis is a results based manager not a coach, going to West Brom was a big mistake. Tony Pulis is no good for young players

He was tekky even then but he wasn't a pulis player as pulis like 6ft 2 players who are units. He like playing 4 centre backs at the back. That was his style. He was anti football in style so a guy like gnabry was wasting his time. I don't care what he says here. You just know some players wouldn't get a chance to play in his team.

Be honest, from the minute he joined you lot probably didn’t like him. Idk if it’s cause of his fashion, the fact he came from a big club, he is foreign, idk but this was clear to see you lot didn’t gel with him and make him part of the team. Same thing with Salah and KDB at Chelsea, even Terry admitted he should have looked out for them more. Talking bout his ego as if he done or said anything bad. Give it a rest you didn’t like him from the start

The suit story was uncalled for here, what does that have to do with anything? Just shows Pulis has agenda. And trying to take credit for his turnaround giving him 'a kick up the backside' - what a load of crap
