They say “Never meet your heroes”…

But that saying always bugged the heck outta me - because I’ve always felt if you’re a “celebrity” of any caliber and you’re LUCKY enough to have some fame and influence - then be grateful for the position you’re in and be KIND and GOOD to people — ESPECIALLY OUR KIDS.

Sure I’ve met some a#%holes as an adult, who I was so excited to finally meet and wound up being super disappointed- but that further cemented how I feel about fame.

When I was a little boy, I finally met one of my heroes - Muhammad Ali 🐐- he was so sweet and kind to me. Made a MASSIVE POSITIVE impression on me that I never forgot.

Marco - it’s great to meet you, shake your hand and give ya a hug. Keep up the great work in school and THANK YOU big man for being my biggest fan!!! 🤜🏾🤛🏼

I met “The Rock” in a Waffle House in Richmond, VA YEARS ago. He was EXACTLY like this! I felt bad interrupting him while eating, but he stopped, wiped his hands, and turned in the booth to face me, introduced himself as Dwayne Johnson, even though this was at the height of his wrestling career, and talked for several minutes just like this. He is truly a wonderful human being. Very genuine, caring, docile, and worthy of ALL of the hype around him for sure!! Sometimes meeting your favorite celebs turns out to be all you hoped it would be! I’ll always remember how great he is!
