From all my years of travelling to various historic sites around Britain, I would like to show some of my personal favourite hidden Medieval sites.

Enjoy!

I've just made a Patreon! Feel free to support me with just $5 a month for exclusive & extensive photography of all the historic sites I visit, behind the scenes armoury videos and medieval reenactment events I attend across the UK.

Feel free to leave a like, comment, and subscribe for more!

I also work for Lancaster Armoury - If you're interested in Medieval reenactment, we can supply your arms & armour!

I've been to Tretower but none of the others. My favourite hidden site is St Wynsteins crypt at Repton

I live in the US and wish that we had amazing old buildings like the ones in the British Isles. Most older buildings that aren’t along the East Coast or in the South have been torn down and replaced with cheap apartment blocks, strip malls and car parks. Old=bad or unnecessary seems to be the mindset, and yet, when an old building is actually preserved it then becomes beloved by the community. It makes no sense to me.

Come to think of Castles.

In the 1906 Edwardian Novel of The Railway Children. In the 1970 version, One Rainy cold day at Oakworth Station in Yorkshire, the three Waterbury children are sitting in the waiting by the fire, waiting for mother to come home.

I hope Mother doesn't get too wet.
We don't want her ill again.
Its like being in a sieged castle, the arrows & the bows striking agenist the battlements.
Its more like a great big garden squirt.
You're a great big garden squirt.
Thank you.
Stop it you two!
There's a train coming.
Oakworth.
Oakworth Station.
Come on Ladies & Gents.
Mind your heads. Its only a shower.
