When my husband was diagnosed with Type II, the GP sent him to a diabetic nutritionist who told him to eat 180 grams of carbs a day. That is absolutely criminal. I hate to think how many lives she's ruining with her ignorance.

I work as a hospital nurse assist. The foods that are allowed on the patient ADA menu are crazy high carb ! Ridiculous!
PLEASE keep blowing this whistle!

Diabetics have been misled long enough. They deserve the benefits of the same low HbA1c as the rest of us!!!

I'm a T2 diabetic and have been strict keto (15-20 carbs per day) for one year. A1c went from 8.1 to 6.7 but lost zero weight. So now, I've thrown in 3-day fasting and am finally losing weight! I'm beating the stuffing out of the diabetes and someday soon, it will be just a memory. For all intents and purposes, I don't have a doctor (!), so Dr. Berry, YOU are my doctor, even though I can't talk to you (along with Jason Fung) and you're saving my life. Words can't express my gratitude.

The ketogenic diet saved my life!

Here are the changes it made for me, from 12/29/16 to 01/25/2018, all without ANY medication!

Fasting BG 270 to 82
HA1C 11.3 to 4.6
Triglicerides 194 to 66!!!
All Chol. numbers are now within normal ranges, the best they've ever been in my life.
Diabetic damage to my left eye was 20/400, now 20/25
Weight 237 to 181 and going!

I sort of went keto by accident. I started with Paleo with an A1c over 11 on a fist full of pills a day. My BS started coming down but not as much as I had hoped. I started cutting out carbs. First I dropped my precious beer, then my morning Orange juice. That helped but still not enough. Then I dropped my evening bowl of unsweetened applesauce. Better but still not good enough. Then I gave up my milk (yeah, I know, not Paleo). Before I really understood what keto was I was keto. At my last check up my A1c was at 5.3 on one metformin a day. My LDL dropped from 106 to 91. HDL improved from 44 to 56. Triglycerides down, total cholesterol down. I lost 60 pounds as well. As I gave up the carbs I realized that I was no longer hungry in the morning. I gave up breakfast and most of the time I only eat one meal a day. I feel better at 56 than I have ever felt in my life. I have been full keto for about a year and a half now. I have also discovered a decent low carb beer. Michelob Ultra Pure Gold. 2.5 grams of carbs per bottle. Life is good.

I just started Keto my mother died from type 2 diabetes complications.
I watched her go through dialysis & get a leg amputated . But she never quit eating sugar.... Haagen Das, cookies, candy bars was her daily choices . When she first was diagnosed with pre diabetes she was told she could lose weight & excersise & probably never have to go on insulin but she didn’t do that she was a binge eater & would eat a whole pizza in one sitting she was at some points probably 100 to 125 lbs overweight & wouldn’t walk or do any exercise I’m trying to be healthier but I myself was addicted to sugar but don’t miss it on Keto . My mom died at just the age of 69 she could have lived a much longer healthier active life but did not take her diabetes seriously & quit her poor food choices . I believe she suffered from depression & self medicated with sugar but that just makes it worse . Please all diabetics or insulin resistant people get off sugar it IS poison ☠️

I'm Type 1 (30 years) and I just started on the Ketogenic diet. I have reduced my insulin by half so far. I don't need to lose any weight but I want a healthier body overall.

I'm not diabetic but I had a good friend who was diagnosed in his early 30s. I can't send him this because he is no longer with us but I will forward to as many as I can. It is just criminal that even this disease is not treated correctly in this country. Bravo, doc.

My HBA1C was surprisedly 8.2 when I checked up my blood for a minor surgery. I was very much sad to have diabetes in my 34 Year of age. But Thanks to All of you nice people on Youtube who share their knowledge and experience. I Follow low carbs diet and after 3 months when I re tested my HBA1C that was incredibly 5.2 which is pretty much better and satisfied..

Yes you can. In just a month and a half, I was able to stop taking insulin and dropped about 30lbs. I was taking 100 units of long acting and 100 units of meal time insulin a day. I went all out Keto right off the bat. I don't advise anyone to do it the way I did. I should have went slower to avoid some of the negative effects of no carbs but I toughed it out and now feel good. Thanks Dr Berry. I initially saw you on Tactical Response channel and took it from there

This diet is AMAZING! I am 45 now and I decided to start running again for the first time in a long time about 6 to 7 months ago. I had to walk first because my feet and lower legs ached a lot due to not doing it for a long time. When my feet and lower legs finally stopped aching after a good long walk, I decided to walk, sprint, and walk, around my neighborhood...a technique that burned fat years ago when I was younger. After two weeks of doing it, I jumped on the scale and was disappointed to learn that I only lost two measley pounds and my belly seemed the same. I was very disappointed and felt like my age has caught up to my metabolism! So, I decided to kinda of give up. I did consume flaxseed oil for a few weeks and I did lose a few pounds, but gained them right back after the holidays. Then, my best friend started keto 3 weeks ago and a week into it, he told me about it so I started it 15 days ago. Are you ready for this....so far, with little to no exercise I LOST 13lbs and I'm never hungry! I bought some fast food for my son and pass by fast food restaurants and don't get any cravings for that food, at all! My parents saw me two days ago and noticed that my belly was getting smaller and complimented me for it! This diet is a God sent MIRACLE! Thank you God!!!
