Hey guys ! We're covering the 8th topic in the syllabus today: plant transport.

It covers the basic transport system in plants. For example, the xylem, phloem, roots. And also things like transpiration and capillary action.

I remember when I was at school I found this topic quite difficult, so i hope this video helps you out a little.

Don't confuse capillary action with transpiration pull. Capillary action is the spontaneous movement of a liquid through a narrow tube such as a capillary. Transpiration pull is when water is pulled up the xylem in the stem from the roots to the leaves. The key difference between capillary action and transpiration pull is that capillary action occurs due to the effect of adhesive and cohesive forces, whereas transpiration pull occurs due to evaporation.

Sir, I think the diagram for a vascular bundle for leaf is wrong because the phloem is on top and the xylem is below.
