My friend John Hiatt here in Nashville wrote this song…also wrote Bonnie Raitt’s “The Thing Called Love”, Buddy Guy’s “Feels Like Rain”, Iggy Pop’s “Something Wild”; many more. John himself is an astounding performer…hope you can catch him sometime🙂

"Hold On, I'm Comin" done by Eric Clapton and B.B. King on this album is also a great rendition. Great dueling guitars as an outro.

Can't go wrong with B.B and Eric. Love catching duets of the finest. I have a BIG soft spot for the Blues.

That entire album is great. They especially did a good job on two Doyle Bramhall II songs-- "Marry You" and "I Wanna Be", and on B.B. King's "Three O'Clock Blues".

Here’s a suggestion for you. Try two of your favorites together-U2 with BB King! It’s called “When Love Comes To Town” from U2’s Rattle and Hum album. Great track with great blues guitar and Bono’s vocals at peak rock/soul sound. The video features them in my hometown of Memphis at Graceland (where I worked one Summer as a tour guide) and at Sun Studios. Thinking you might enjoy hearing two of your favorites together! Love you guys - always a highlight of my day!!😃❤️🤗

This tune was written by John Hiatt from Indianapolis Indiana. John has many great tunes recorded by him and like this one, by other artists.

Jay! Amber! This song was written by John Hiatt. The same John Hiatt that I have been trying to get you to listen to for ages. I have been trying to get you to listen to Have A Little Faith In Me, but all of his songs are great. You need to check him out himself.

I saw B.B. and Eric years ago. B.B. opened the show, then returned for Clapton's encore. Fantastic! B.B. has an album of duets 'Deuces Wild' with Van Morrison, Bonnie Raitt, the Stones, Joe Cocker and Willie Nelson. (and Heavy D) ☮❤🎶

John Hiatt originally wrote this about Elvis Presley. He was driving in his car and heard multiple Elvis songs in a row on the radio (which was unusual for a rock station in 1977) and knew that Elvis had died. Eric Clapton and BB King tweaked it a bit to make it like they were riding in a car together.

They made a video of them riding around singing this!
If you want to see BB with some legends check out
"Stevie Ray Vaughan, B B King, Albert King, Paul Butterfield - The Sky Is Crying"
All of them are now playing together again in Rock & Roll Heaven.

Whether together or separate, these are 2 musical giants and so glad to see them doing something together again. They also headed up the SRV Tribute Concert, you should check that out as well, they had a bunch of stellar musicians with them. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶

Amber and Jay - I'm so pleased you finally reacted to this! I had recommended it a few years ago but I understand you get many (great) recommendations everyday. Still, I'm glad you enjoyed it now. Another fantastic blues hit (from 1991) that I predict you'll love is 'Tangueray' by Johnnie Johnson. It's from the album 'Johnnie B. Bad' that features Keith Richards on guitar. (The album came about by a number of contemporary musicians like Keith Richards & Eric Clapton coming together to help their elderly idol, blues pianist/singer Johnney Johnson then working as a bus driver, make a new album to introduce his genius to a whole new generation. Tangueray was written for the album by Johnney & Kieth). It worked and was likely Johnney's best selling album. Johnney Johnson was born in 1924 and died in 2005. He was one of the first black Marines in the military service. Chuck Berry's song 'Johnney B. Good' is reportedly a tribute to Johnson's behavior when he was drinking! Blues royalty! His voice & piano playing on Tangueray are truly epic.

John Hiatt songs (he wrote this song) you should check out: no reactors do. "Memphis in the Meantime." "Slow Turning." "Buffalo River Home." "Perfectly Good Guitar."

Good song, great reaction! The song has a great feel to it.
PS. One day you might enjoy hearing a more recent cover of this song, performed by Joe Bonamassa with Mahalia Barnes (a singer, daughter of Australian Jimmy Barnes). Although faithful to the Clapton/King rendition, Mahalia's voice adds another element (This version is known as "Riding with the Kings", with an "s").
