I have the jShowtime Pro 6000. I have had it for years. I haven't done a normal turkey in forever. I can do a 20 lb turkey, but I have to be careful and tie things down a lot so it doesn't touch the element. I LOVE THIS MACHINE AND I SURE HOPE IT LASTS FOREVER. I injoyed the video. THANK YOU.

The oven comes with a base that you put the skewers on. They then stand vertically. You take the bird, set it loosely on top of the skewers, and let it rock back and forth until you find that spot where the bird is balanced, not pulling too much away from you, not pulling towards you, but balanced. Push the skewers through right at that angle, and you should have a well balanced load that the motor can turn almost effortlessly. No grinding hard going up one side, and being pulled hard against on the way down the other side. Just a nice, even turn with no jerkiness, and no engine struggling on one side of the bird. That's what the plat form is for. That, and it also conveniently hols the bird while you stuff the cavity with salt, or carrots, or apple, or anything else you like to put in there. Just note that anything you put in the cavity usually falls out as soon as it starts turning, unless you stitch it closed. Also, I do not recommend *completely* stuffing the cavity with anything, as that prevents the heat from cooking the bird form the inside out.

I have the exact same Ronco. This thing is great! Turkey, chicken and Xmas prime rib. All are excellent in my set it and forget it. Love this rotisserie oven. I love in an RV and you know how small those ovens are. Ment live in an RV, maybe a little love too, but you get it 😂😂😂😂😂

Good advice on the larger birds being too fat for the Pro model. I told a relative that for large family meals, maybe it would be better to cook two birds in two of the Deluxe models. I haven't perfected poultry in mine yet and I need practice on the cooking times since I've read that brining will reduce the cooking times for a turkey. My turkey was a little dry after following the suggested cook time. Beef, on the other hand, comes out perfect.

I just bought the showtime 5000 platinum oven ( i think the only difference is its digital ) two weeks ago and have cooked 3 chickens, 1 game hen & a BIG OLE T-bone steak. All of which cooked AWSOME. Up next rack of lamb.😙 ronco rotisserie is very much recommend.🍗🍖

Take the grill off the drip pan and line it with foil. Easy clean up.

It can be because of the self-basting nature of the rotis. I'm just using a common digital probe thermometer by Polder, but any brand will do.

The Showtime Pro pulls 1600 Watts @ 120V/60Hz. There is no way to set the temperature, which is fixed. When the bird rotates close to the elements I would suppose it is close to 375-400F.

Is it ok to leave the plastic bondage thing on the legs? It doesn't melt?

I see some people in their videos have their Ronco Rotisserie ovens sitting on top of their electric stoves but does anyone know could these be used on a glass flat top stove? I assume it would be fine since the stove top glass heats up anyways but was not sure how hot these get underneath.

If any part of the bird or what ever you are cooking touches the heating element, it will stop as a safety feature

Well, I think they're different. Vertical roasting gives you juicier meat, while the rotis gives you crispier skin.
