Let me get this straight… the opposition can literally break and enter Steve’s home under explicit instruction not to, rip apart of his private property, deny a tape submitted under no verifiable evidence it was tampered with, and Billy submits a tape right after that and it’s accepted when there’s extreme skepticism with how the score jumps? Updates as of 2023.

- In 2018, Billy Mitchell's scores for all games were removed from Twin Galaxies and Guinness World Records after he was discovered to have submitted runs that used emulator software rather than original hardware. The use of emulators is banned because it makes it possible to splice together separately played segments to create what appears to be a high scoring single run.
- Guinness reversed its decision in 2020, claiming that the evidence was not conclusive. Twin Galaxies stuck by their original decision.
- In 2022, a panel of six technical experts concluded that Billy's scores had indeed been achieved using emulation software, not an original machine.
- Billy maintains that he has never used emulation software to achieve his high scores.

- Walter Day left Twin Galaxies in 2010.
- Steve Wiebe last held the Donkey Kong world record with a score of 1, 064, 500 set on August 30 2010.
- In 2018, because Billy's scores were removed, Twin Galaxies recognised that Steve Wiebe was infact the first player to break the 1 million point barrier on Donkey Kong.
- The current Donkey Kong high score is 1, 272, 800, set on June 8 2021 by Robbie Lakeman.

I grew up with Billy’s kids, I never knew he was this gaming icon, watching this documentary kind of explains why he acted the way he did around everyone when I was around him, such a self righteous person, he legit fell asleep on my parent’s couch one night 😂 what a terrific coincidence that I ran into this video.

Film students should pay attention to this one. This film is an example of some of the best editing and soundtrack choices in the business. They turned something mundane that would interest a very small demographic into an absolute masterpiece and an emotional roller coaster. This movie is truly a gem!
