No immediate danger…
Can be said for any dam, up until that moment 👀

So after years and years and years and years of flooding and hurricanes and tornadoes. And trust me as an 80s baby I've seen many floods and now there's a problem. Wow I smell politics involved I really do

my question is…..how long have they been monitoring Lake Livingston Dam?? There should be other measures in place. This didn’t just happen overnight.

I’m not conserving anything. If it’s not the water it’s the electricity.

Spillway is not the dam itself, next just who manages the dam? State doesn't! So if more gates would have been open there would be no water going over the Spillway. Sounds like total mismanagement to me, that is the new normal!

Shame if the governor out there stop playing political games with other governors & president & fix the issues. The electrical grid needs fixing bad .People have list power in winter & people died from freezing Then summer die from the heat no electric .Now the dam, these things need to be checked more often not years & years go by before it gets the proper inspections are done. Have you not seen in other states after rain & their dams flooded houses were lost whole towns wiped out from floods People on top the roofs having to be rescued by helicopter. Remember Katrina & what happen when those levees broke .Get on the mayor's there to get on that governor to make sure you have the money to fix these issues in your state instead of hotweels spending the money playing games

Was it damaged in the floods a few weeks ago?

To be clear, there is no emergency. The emergency spillway only serves as an overflow to protect the dam from being overtopped when sudden rain fills up the reservoir too fast. The reported issue by TRA is the fact that the emergency spillway was used at all. It’s not something that is supposed to be used because it is an uncontrolled release that could damage the banks and property downstream. The spillway and dam are fine.

Wouldn't be a problem if the city could meter it.

Why is it not finished being repaired yet? It's August 26th and you can drive by and see it's not done. And a no fly zone and no drones? What are they hiding? Oh yeah it's under FERC control now, not Trinity River Authority.

There are 12 floodgates on the spillway. They may have issues with a few but there is no danger now. The dam is in no danger of failure.
