A quick tip on the image quality. If you upload at 1440p or higher youtube will process it using the VP09 codec which is much better than the AVC codec used for 1080p videos, so it will remove some of the compression artifacts. I'm starting my channel so have been recording videos for a couple of months, I was really pleased when I exported and watched the video but as soon as I uploaded it to youtube (the videos are scheduled so not available yet) and watched it there... I was so sad lol so after digging around it turns out it is because of the codec used by youtube. I was recording 4k and exporting 1080p but now I'm recording 4k and exporting 1440p, the quality is much better even if played back at 1080p!
You can do the opposite, keep recording at 1080p but then export at 1440p, youtube will then apply the VP09 codec so you will still see the benefits!
Send hugs to Pedro from Spell/Spellim ;)

That moment when you realize your favorite YouTuber’s workbench is nicer than your kitchen counters. 🤷‍♂️

Literally my gopro and helmet mount, and mic all came in today so I could start my motovlogs, which I started because of this channel. Good deal Blockhead!

Just got the gopro Hero 9 today and my semi-brand new Rebel 500. I have never ridden before but channels like yours inspired the heck out of me and I keep coming back to hear the engines roar and you riding a lot more. Thank you for the inspiration Mr Head of the Block Variety.

Hi Blockhead, came accross this video some 2 years after posting it. I’m a very small very new channel. Just started with an exhaust video and now moved into gopro riding videos. Great tips for the moto vlogging. Will help me no ends with my content. Thank you, stay safe and keep riding 😁

The transition had a back to the future flavor to it and I love it

Recently started a motovlog about widowhood (I’m twice widowed and noticed this large group of widows who ride in the widowed community). Was wondering where you had your logo and intro done? I’m creative in many ways, but graphic design isn’t one of them. You and your channel have been a major influence. Thank you for putting out great content!

The transition is a cool idea. Keep spicing it up like that when you go from Garage to Road and back lol Even if I wanted to start motovlogging, I have nothing to talk about. I'd go on tangents telling sea stories from my Military time haha!

Good tips. My channel is only 3 months old but I've been doing all 5 of your tips as best I can. Simply getting started and putting it all into action is super key and the best way to improve a channel. Failure is certainly an option but every failure leads to steps forward too.

It's always nice seeing other people who are into bikes be into classic muscle cars too! I have a dyna low rider s and a 1970 dodge charger both on my channel, awesome hobbies and great communities behind both!

Blockhead I want to say that you were my inspiration to motoblog on U-Tube, I don't have a lot of followers but I'm growing slowly and I want to say thank you . My issue is how to add music to my videos and titles, I can text on them but their not as nice as yours .

Great advice. Always realize there's enough in the garden for everyone to do what they love and make a great living.

I agree with alot of what you said here. The biggest thing is being yourself. I've got a small but loyal following so far and it's been pretty fun growing my channel. I ride a Can Am Spyder and that seems to turn some people off from my channel. Other people seem to love it and they subscribe and stick around. I'm working on something things for next year, so hopefully 2021 will be a good year for growth. Keep up the good work.

I started my channel when I bought my Harley-Davidson Roadster and did just riding music video styles and switch up a couple of time doing vlogging. I just started motovlogging and it really helped my channel grow. I don’t have as many subs as you but it’s slowly growing. Motovlogging is great because if done right you build a personal relationship with your viewers and meet a lot amazing people through it

All great points, it also helps to have a Harley Sportster if you're doing motovlogs, it's searchable content, which will also help grow your channnel. I own a sporty because you owned a sporty back in the day when you first started

Just found your channel and like me, I'm sure it was spot on for why some of us want to start our own channel at some point. More videos like this would be much appreciated!!
