The Smoke Show ! ALCo Disguised like a EMD ??

Enjoy the long Roller Coaster Smoke show put by the WDG4D Dual Cab Freight EMD (Electromotive Diesel) beast smoking like a ALCo as it struggles to climb the monster gradients belching thick smoke on a fine evening just a few minutes before the sun set.This is quiet unusual for an EMD to smoke so much and this also a pretty colorful combo to see a Dual Cab EMD that is meant for hauling Freight consists towing a Express Train comprising of the Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches.

These monster gradients are largely found in the Deccan plateau where the terrain is extremely rough and uneven. The South Western Railway Zone of Indian Railways stands top when it comes to these Monster Gradients how ever the average speed of Trains in the Zone takes a major hit due to the unavailability of flat straight lines. The Bangalore - Hubli line is full of these enormous Monster gradients .

P.S: The first half of the video is slightly fast forwarded as the train takes a very long time to cover the gradients across the 4 KM long stretch.

one of the creepiest gradients I've seen till date. With such tracks how could railway think of running high speed trains? Its a shame for those engineers too who worked on its construction.
