A delayed call is a taught mechanic. If it’s ball you stayed crouched and just say “ball” if it is a strike you stand fully erect and say strike loud enough for the ball park to hear

Heard of HB umpires on Strike-3 calls who do a full 360 spin and then create two simultaneous signals - the Strike 3 symbol with RH and the "out" signal in the LH at the same time and of course call it? It does happen.

I like the combo, immediate upper cut and yell then the step back lateral punch. I don't recall which umpire does that but I tried to replicate it when I was younger just for fun.
