You are a most fortunate man to live on a beautiful lake in Maine and be serenaded by the haunting cry of the loons. Great information and video Bob😊👍

I spent some time in Belgrade Lakes this summer in July. Managed to see and hear loons, it was really the highlight of my trip.

Fantastic video!

The common loon is my absolute favorite bird and I'm so happy for anyone that gets to regularly see/hear them!

I've lived in WA my entire life minus the last couple years and the week before moving from WA I decided to visit one of our mountain lakes for the last time.
I've never seen a loon in-person before that day and God blessed me with a few loons on the lake that I've NEVER seen there - what an awesome parting memory of WA!

I hope to live someplace with loons like this, thank you for the video 🤍

I once was camping at Richter Pond in Groton State Park (VT); my campsite had its own put-in for my kayak. While I was out paddling on the pond, two young lions came flying over the gap between the pond and the larger Groton Lake; I presumed they were new to flying, because they were as boisterous as kids on a roller coaster! They flew around the shore of the pond until a long wait called them back. What a rare treat!

They are one of my favorite birds to watch when in Maine. I do enjoy the ghostly sounds at night, thank you for the great videos and content you put out every week. 👍

Great video. I was surprised to see a juvenile Common Loon diving the surf off of Monterey in Central coastal of California. I thought they were more of a Northeast bird, but no they winter along the Pacific coast as well

Knowledgable content and gorgeous footage makes for a truly wonderful video. I think you managed to convert me into a certified loon-atic (bet you haven't heard that one before). 😉

Stunning birds, we call the Great Northern Divers here in the UK, slightly more poetic I think. We only get them as wintering birds though.

Nice story! For me, it is annually great to see (usually hear one first) the arrival of that first loon sometime between Halloween and Thanksgiving along the MS Gulf Coast. They serenade late fall & all winter into early spring on quiet days as I kayak by at a distance.

I visit from Colorado to relatives in MN - where I have the pleasure of seeing and hearing loons. I'm addicted. Thanks so much for the info. I have a loon whistle and needed to be reminded of the distinctions in their calls.

I am not a birdwatcher, but I just wanted to let you know that your shots look fantastic and I can tell that you put a lot of effort into filming this, also great audio in the bird calls!
