They’re not allowing residents to rebuild, insurance companies aren’t giving payouts…because the mayor, Governor, and EPA are saying the area is too contaminated…but at the same time they’re removing contaminated soil and piling it in a runoff gully, where it’s suffocating prime ocean nursery.
The Governor of Hawaii said he was going to make Lahaina the first smart city. This is a land grab…the people are being forced out of their ancestral land.

We lost everything last summer in the golden wild fire in south eastern Oregon. We finally got our insurance and bought our new place and moved in last April. It's hard. Sorry for their losses. We know where they're coming from. We decided not to rebuild. The land is totally devastated and depressing.

My question still remains... How is this now the "Deadliest Fire In US History" with only 102 confirmed deaths, if the Peshtigo Fire deathtoll was 1, 600-2, 200?
They know Lahaina lost over 2, 200 Hawaiians in the fires that day, or succumbing to injuries days after!
Reports of 1, 600 body bags ordered and used and those weren't enough.
Reports of 1, 100 students that did not return or reenroll into schools.
Lahaina Luna HS honored the lives of 11 Seniors last during their Graduation Ceremony with 11 "Empty" seats.
Official Media Reports claim only 2 children were lost in those fires but we can now add these 11 to their 2 for an Unofficial Confirmed Report of 11 Children Lost In The Maui Fires.
Its been 1 year since this tragedy and the US Government and Biden Administration has done nothing to help the displaced people of Maui.

May the Hawaiian people of Maui get back at least some level of restoration for the city of Lahaina. we will never get back front street or any of the amazing historical buildings of that community and most importantly the people who made that community such a beautiful place to be. my heart goes out to every Hawaiian family and every family in the community that lost businesses, homes and property. However most importantly, those amazing people that we all lost, the children, their loved ones and their family members. Maui, Strong forever 1:49 .

I went to visited Maui, Hawaii back in April 2016 for the first time when my older sister and brother-in-law got married.
