The W1 chip is only on Apple branded headphones. It is not on the iPhone 7 or any other iOS device, tvOS device, or Mac. Apple will not be putting a W1 chip into the next iMac because they don't intend it to be an easy-pair Bluetooth speaker. The W1 chip is just a Bluetooth chip in headphones to connect to other Bluetooth devices. iPhones don't have special hardware to make pairing easier; they have software integration for headphones with official W1 chips. Thus, older devices like the iPad Air also come with that nice wireless pairing.
