My review of the legendary Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80ohm - still my personal favorite closed back under $200. How does it stack up against the ATH-m50X? The CM MH751? How to pick which Ohm variant?

Best closed back headphone review without a doubt. You covered almost every possible question I could have asked about the headphones mentioned. Also great b-roll!

The quality of this channel has been improving so much. Even though in the beginning, the quality was already superb.

I think these are the ones for me. Insane bass and sub bass for my bass head needs, but still has the detail in the mids and highs for my gaming. Great sound stage for a closed set. Good isolation. Awesome durability. Super comfortable. Reacts well with just about any discrete amp. Actually available for a reasonable price in my country. ($199 on PC Case Gear for my fellow Aussies) I’m impressed by the quality of all of your videos Brian, and thank you for bringing these to my attention.

For anyone interested in getting the DT770's - I just got their less known unofficial update, the Custom Studios (NOT the Custom One Pros). They sound almost exactly the same but has more midrange and less harsh/spiky highs, and comes with adjustable bass ports and a detachable cable, aswell as a boom mic made for them (the custom GAME mic). If the price difference isn't huge in your country, I'd highly recommend getting the Studios!

If you're wondering if your phone/ipad will push the 80 ohm version well - they don't. You'll only get medium level volume at best even when your phone is maxed out. I'm using them with a motu m4, so it's not an issue for me personally. If you intend on using them with your phone or computer, I'd definitely get the 32 ohm version.

I've had these *250 ohm version
for years and they're still going strong! Bought new earpads and a headband and they're like new. Amazing quality.

How does this man make such old tech seems new and interesting. Your passion, details, and energy is so so so great. Emphasis on energy, I love it!

It's my favourite closed back too. Although i'm using 250 ohm version :) I've used both. if anyone curious the difference is 80 ohm version has more bass, 250 ohm version has more detailed bass and overall more detailed signature. 80 ohm is a bit more fun imo so there is no right or wrong they both great and similiar.

Picked them up for 89 bucks on sale this weekend, waiting for them to arrive right now 🙌 Had the 32 Ohm version that I handed over to my girlfriend when I went over to try wireless. Used GSP370's for about a year, but was always left wanting more. Found a unit on sale, and copped it immediately! Can't wait for it to arrive!

For anyone considering to switch from a pair of “gaming” headphones to higher tier headphones like these, make the switch as soon as possible. A couple of months ago, I bought a pair of the Sennheiser HD 598 cs and they work wonders. When I first put them on, the sound was so much different. You can really feel the sound with headphones like these, and not even just with the bass. But with “gaming” headphones, the sound is washed out and watered down. Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser and AKG are really good reputable brands that you should look at. Headphones can be expensive, but it’s completely worth it. Another great video as always.

God I genuinely enjoyed listening to you speak about these. Regardless of the headphones it was enjoyable listening to some one who has their head on right, is intelligent quite obviously and absolutely great wording and speed of speech. Subbed for sure. Thank you for being a great reviewer.

I just got mine today. I have been mixing and doing FOH for years. I love the quality and comfort. The only thing that is bugging me right now is the seeming boost in the 3-6k sibilance range. It just seems a little artificial. They don't seem as flat as I was hoping for. I like them a lot, but not sure I would totally trust them for mixing due to the increased sibilant frequency boost. The bass isn't too loud at all, but do have the great low bass extension. I have an old vintage set of AKG K240 "made in Austria" that I always felt were great for flat response. The AKG don't have the good extended bass like the DT770 Pro, but seem more correct for a flat response mixing. I hope I can get comfortable with the 770. I do love the build design and comfort.
