Nowodays, its not about manufacturers disabling it but THE FM CHIP MISSING... Before MediaTek took over, Snapdragon included FM radio in all chips by default. Mediatek created a trend by making FM optional, and let phone makers save a "lot". Also chips can be smaller with it missing. Also no iPhone had FM radio, FM was only included in 6/6s because Qualcomm's mistake and it was not easily accesible. Also the frequency problems only affects Japan and old Soviet countries. Japan uses 75-90Mhz and the rest of world except some outdated countries use 87.5-108Mhz.

Although Asus 8z is a underrated compact handset, but they seperately provided notification led, 3.5mm port & fm radio till date 😉😎..
