I’d imagine that kids would have a harder time dealing with adult symptoms of chickenpox if they had to because kids are too young to be expected to know how to deal with serious illnesses in general! (That would also have to be why they have a lower risk of many illnesses!)

Back in the day. We used to expose our kids to get over chicken pox. You hoped to whole family would get it all at once to "get over it."
