Stuart McLean is a Canadian Staple! It's not Christmas unless he's telling "Dave Cooks the Turkey" on CBC radio! Definitely, definitely look up some recordings of the vinyl cafe online. He is a brilliant live storyteller and the stories lose something as flat text in paper.

I loved Memoirs of a Geisha. Read it 5 or 6 years ago.... overdue for a reread. At my library's book sale, I saw a paperback copy for 25 cents! But I let my friend have it..

I read Carriger's YA steampunk book, Etiquette and Espionage and thought it to be just alright.

The Parasol Protectorate series is so much fun (I'm on book 4 Heartless).  I read Gail Carriger's 2 YA books first and I'm glad I did as it gave me more understanding of two characters that I would not have liked very much otherwise.

I own Memoirs of a Geisha but have just been putting off for no real reason. I've heard good things about The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and it's on my to-buy list.
I love Atonement- the film. It is sooo heartbreaking.
