I've been writing a story recently and for this to show up at the exact same time feels almost like a good omen. I want to live in the universe I have created, and the more I write this story the more I not only progress in something but I also learn from my own characters. Thanks for posting this video, I think I'll get back to it now.

It has always amazed me, how much we invest in the fictional realm. It is because, I believe, we are dissatisfied with everyday life. Ingrained in our passion for storytelling is a need to resurrect the past, reconfigure the present, and create the future. Stories are our lives reimagined. And because reality is a subjective experience, they are as real as anything, and eventually, they become our lives.

Hey Jason, WoW! You're brilliant! The way you distill these ideas is like Mental Rocket fuel. It gets my mind racing. With this one I just want to be able to read everything.

Another great video Jason. I would however like to see you filming in different locations for each video just for a bit of a variety. Also It sometimes bugs me that you overuse the words catharsis and transcend. Obviously they're very relevant terms to your subjects but I think to maintain this channel you need make sure they don't become repetitive or too similar to each other. Anyway, loved the vid as usual, keep them coming!

Can you talk about how powerful memory is? I mean. Memories could change the very foundation of the human mind. The ability to have good memories or bad memories could change how a human feels in an instant. And if you had the ability to control memories you could enslave the human race or make everyone think you were some sort of superhero. The human memory, if changed, could completely change the path of one and set them on another.

It's kind of silly that all the comments are about Jason's delivery and setting, not the component idea of the video. And what an idea! Personally, I find it fascinating that the constant stream of words that makes up my consciousness ("my narrative", in Mr. Silva's words), disapears when I become immersed in a great novel or film. It's wonderful to have that constant internal monologue muted once in a while, but it's truly beautiful to have it's place filled with words and images that nudge my imagination to spectacular visions of things I'll probably never see.
Also neuroscience needs to hurry the fuck up and find answers to all these things.
