Ford 2017 F150 10-speed first drive on the track and with trailer

I just ordered a 2017 F150 Supercrew XLT, FX4, Max Trailer, and sport package with the new 3.5 Ecoboost and 10speed transmission. Can't wait to compare how it tows our horse trailer as compared to my diesel!

I'll keep my push rod 4 speed( techically 3 speed with over drive lol). 10 speed auto would be good for towing and be fuel efficient but auto transmissions are complicated as it is. 10 gears is crazy for a light duty truck

Ask the trans team how they stop the shifting solenoids from loading up with micro fine metal particles and screwing up the shift patterns.

Interesting. I love my 2015 8 speed Ram V6, how would you compare the Ram to the 10 speed? I don't tow so it's mostly a DD and family fun truck. Thanks.

were all the trucks with 3.31 rears or did they have 3.55 also? what is the ideal rear with the new 10 speed?

Mr.Truck said he read the information from Ford about this new powertrain. He said it was confusing. He then gets told how many injectors as well as their function and then argues with the engineer. Goes on a test drive and again tries to come off as an expert. Just because you have a blog by no means makes you smarter than the Ford staff who in spite of Mr.Truck's unprofessional behaviour remained polite and tried to steer him in the right direction, even when you were in the wrong lane and going too fast.Now if you had asked the purpose for the addition of the port fuel injectors and asked why the change to a new turbo design instead of talking about being allowed to go up the steeper grade and looking for Deere and Turkeys.You could have asked are there any new service requirements for the new second gen 3.5L Ecoboost and new 10 speed transmission as compared to the pervious generation that would have been helpful information to buyers.
