"Correction:" 07:01 I didn't realize I had the noisegate on my RodeCaster 1, so this results might be off. A better example is the beginning to the end. Thanks Danel Garay Abaroa for catching.

Let me know in the comments did you figure out WHERE to install the acoustic foam, and what color foam did you choose?

I have a hard time telling the difference between the last 2 clips. But the first part of the video vs the last part of the video I can totally tell there's a reduction of the echo reverb. Thanks for the informational video!

one thing to note is that the colour black absorbs more energy than white. Most people already know that darker clothing or darker coloured cars are hotter in summer but heat and sound are both energy. The difference is probably minimal but i still recommend you go for black acoustic panels only.

Yikes! I just bought 24 acoutic tiles hoping to keep my parrot noise in the parrot room. You just said this isn't what they're for. 2 (maybe 3) questions
1. I'm not recording anything. Is there any other use for my tiles, maybe around the tv?
2. How do I keep the parrot screams from leaving the room?
3. Is there really a difference between acoutic and regular foam?
I know I could google these queries, but consulting with a human is refreshing. TY from Canada

I've been rocking Charcoal and Blue so far. My Complex allows small nails but we do have one wall built with only cender blocks so the 3M Command picture hanging hook&loop strips on the wall along with some glue and opposite velcro to the pannels works wonders.

This is such a valueable lesson! I opted for moving blankets in my space, as I face a massive window, but maybe the accoustic foam for my ceiling....

A very good way to Mount them on the wall without hammering a pin through the foam would be with the Heavier duty Command Strips, the one with the Velcro like backing. They are easy to install, easy to move, and incredibly strong.

Great video . One thing I find missing here and all the other tutorials is exactly WHERE and HOW much foam to place.

I’m assuming there’s a band all the way around the room that would be equal in height to my microphone, and extending so many inches/feet above and below that height?

So like, if I’m speaking into a mic that’s 48 inches above the carpeted floor, do I need a band of foam all the way around my square room, going maybe from 36 to 60 inches above the floor? (That is 12 inches above and below the microphone position?)

I have an unfinished basement, so my idea is to put acoustic foam between the wood beams in the ceiling. I figure that it would give a moderate insulation effect and muffle some noise.

Theres a lot of venting and wiring, so i want it to be accessible. I suppose i could staple a lot of moving blankets, but I don't think I would like the look

I’ve been dealing with acoustic foam falling off of my walls for about 3 years now. Never got to officially fixing it so I always find myself pushing all the acoustic foams that were falling off the wall back in the wall for years now (on to the thick double sided gorilla tape which they said it would stick and work but didn’t) and I’ve been busy and never got to this until today. Thanks can’t wait to hammer in some T-pins 😂

I actually bought a 24pk of Blue/Grey, and trying to figure out how/where to do the placement behind & around my Guitar Amp (in an APT, so I've really got my thinking cap on haha 😄)

My plan is probably black/grey for behind the camera and if I need to put any in front I want a different color cause black blends in with my hair a bit too much

In regards to the first/final clip, I do feel that while the gating was very necessary with the reverb in the untreated space (0:00), the gating feels quite aggressive for the treated space (7:35). How bad are reverb trails with lighter gating with that sort of setup? Thanks!

As far as color goes, stay away from white, or other light colors. ALL foam gets yellow over time, so whatever color you choose, after 2 years, it will look like that color, dipped in yellow t-shirt die. This is why Black, or yellow, is the best option.
My room was done in Black, Yellow, White, and light grey, but now the white is yellow, so it's more Black, yellow, and greyish yellow.

My best looking solution was getting canvas painting frames, and filling them with baby blankets, then covering it with soft thick curtain material. Looks really nice, and baby blanket absorbs more than foam, or towels.
