@wroffinwroffer6713 I wish everyone could get out but there are so many elderly who really cannot travel & on top of that Helene did so much damage there's not as many places to stay. Pumps were out of gas all up the cost where many ppl I know were & they were wrapped with plastic. Supposedly more gas is in Tampa still on tankers waiting to be unloaded so it can be delivered but who knows how long it will take to get up the cost. I'll be praying right along with you I'm in NY but have frnd's & family there. TY for your prayers! 🙏 ❤

Those homes in St Pete the median values are $750, 000. If I lived there I would have some cash socked away. It's horrible to lose your home but you need to stop and think what do I do next. Maybe she can start a go fund me page. I've never given a penny to those I just don't trust them. But I do give to charity directly. The hurricane season isn't over. Thats the risk you take for living near the Gulf of Mexico and it's accompanying storms.

Why would anyone stay and take a chance with the monster Hurricane Milton. Especially right after Hurricane Helene. Milton is not going up the side of the coast, it is coming straight on at Tampa. This is your life. We will pray for all of you who chose to stay. God Bless. ❤️😇🙏❤️

Get it through your heads! I lived in Florida for 30 years. 20 in Orlando and 10 in Palm Bay. Hurricanes came through Palm Bay in 2004 and took out my roof and everything interior. We rebuilt at a loss and left 5 years later. Coastal areas are unsustainable in this new reality! It'll only get worse. Sunshine and beaches are real nice. But don't complain when what's happening is right in your face.

Yes you may have been okay after the last one, Helene was a CAT 4 over 525 miles wide, and Tampa and the barrier islands were hit with storm surge. Milton is a CAT 4 not nearly as wide at 135 miles and the prediscted atorm surge is 8 to 15ft. I am glad to hear it is a mandatory evacuation because clearly it does not sink in for some.
