Heya Nico! I got bored of the standard office routine after graduation universitu and have just been offered a job teaching kindergarten in Beijing! Equally excited and terrified! I’m not worried about moving to a new city, I just hope I can be a somewhat decent teacher!

I loved this video so much. I plan on teaching abroad once I graduate in two years. I would love to see a video on what to look for when applying to teach in schools and how to avoid scammers 😊

Ah, teaching! I came from a family of educators: teachers, ministry of education, universities, office of educational research, etc. .. China has immense respect for her teachers, and it really is a noble profession. In Chinese, the word for career is “事业”。But this word didn’t mean career in the modern sense in Classical Chinese, it’s more of a moral pursuit: from I Ching: “举而措之为天下之民, 谓之事业”。“To establish and act upon for all People, this is career”. In a sense, teaching is one of the truest professions there is!

I'm chinese and I born and raised in the U.S. even though I'm only a 9 grader, going back/abroad to china to teach is one of my options of what i want to do in the future. All my families are in china so pros is that i can be closer to them. Another thing is money i did try researching about that and others tell me that it's not high enough so now i'm having second thoughts haha

After covid-19 is over, I'm not even sure if I'll still have my current job, so the prospect of teaching in China is intriguing. Already studying the local language to
get by. Just need to figure out how to get started on the English teaching side of things.

I loved this video! I have been to Japan as a foreign exhange student and loved it. I am studying Mandarin now with Italki and the thought of going to China to teach English seems so exciting! The people seem so nice, it is cheap, the history is incredible and the language is so wonderfully challenging! Great video! Hello from California ! 😊

I think there are also other opportunities in China too, especially after you learn to speak decent Chinese.
Bilingual not only is fun it also has economic value.

Not to mention you get to gain a really unique cultural perspective from living in a country so different from yours! Living in China has had opened my eyes up and widened my perspective.
I’ve also lost a few pounds from all the walking I do here but that’s just a bonus 😜
