Plumb A Sink in 48 Seconds - Project Zomboid Tips

This is a preview build of Project Zomboid Build 41. This video recorded from a special preview of Build 41 that the developers of Project Zomboid allowed me to do. Included in Build 41 are extensive updates to the animations in the game, a new clothing system that includes many new outfits that grant extra protections, and a number of new weapons and items to expand the gameplay.

Project Zomboid is the ultimate in zombie survival. Alone or in MP: you loot, build, craft, fight, farm and fish in a struggle to survive. A haradcore RPG skillset, a vast map, a massively customisable sandbox and a cute tutorial raccoon await the unwary. So how will you die?

Important note:
-You need carpentry level 6 to build a stair so you can get to the next floor to build roof and place the barrels

*IF YOU CAN'T PLUMB YOUR SINK:*
- make sure your base is considered as a "interior", the game won't let you plumb a sink if it's considered "outside". You can know the game considers a place as an interior room when if you're standing in it the outside world is darkened/invisible. So build walls and a roof. Another indicator as a room being "interior" is that on your digital watch will show a slight change in temperature from the outside world.

btw you CAN place the rain collector above the sink now.

IIRC, the rain collector can be placed directly above the sink now. It was patched sometime ago.

If you aren't at the carpentry lvl to build stairs or have access to a roof You must:
- build some flooring outside a two story window
- put your sink/counter under said floors
- build walls around the sink as it has to be indoors for some reason
-put down your rain collectors then hook it all up
You can connect a sink/washer adjacent to any two story house at lvl 4 carpentry, you just have to be creative.

Currently at version 41.55 there is a bug with the sink and washing machine. If you move a new sink or washing machine into your base, it just won't allow you to plumb it but if you install a water barrel above it can be plumb. Later, you can remove the barrel and it is still working. The sink will still have water supply only if the water didn't shut off.

Working on electrical as we speak for the washing machine alone. Did not know about plumbing or it cleaning water though. Thank you, a great tip!

I plumb sink just fine by using the existing sink in Muldraugh.

You can conect existing sinks, or at least it has worked for me. I don't know if they have changed it in the latest patch.

something no one tells you. you can build rain collectors at level 4, you can't build stairs till level 6.
until then better find a accessible rooftop with a good place for a sink underneath :)

It might be a mod i'm running but I a 100% plumbed some pre-existing sinks last night in my newest playthrough.
