Ewwww weee!! Y’all, I just got another revelation! We can also apply this to “Ohhh I want a baby! I want a family!” Being a mother or father is a ‘ministry’ and it requires a lot (a lot) of giving/serving unto another human life day in and day out whether you want to or not (feel like it or not) and let’s not forget the ‘baby shower’ phase when everyone is all “awww look at the belly! Awww congrats 🎊🎈🎉!” is over and after you have the baby (s) and when reality truly sets in after year 1, 2 & 3. Let’s talk about this too! Not everyone should do a thing just because you can do a thing especially if you are not “equipped” prior to but so many folks want to apply the “if God called you to it, then he’ll bring you through it” but many will take their children and spouses “through” so many ‘unnecessary’ hardships and traumas that they didn’t need to if they would have only waited a little while longer and been better equipped and prepared’ for what was up ahead. 🚫⚠️⛔️✝️

I remember the Lord taught me a big lesson, I literally prayed for a guy I liked in my church when I was new to the faith, I thought I was so ready for marriage….literally two months in he was going to pop the question when we barely knew each other. Long story short, i was not ready, i still had a lot to learn in the faith, in life, in him…so I apologized, and learned my lesson to not rush because God knew and will always know better.

What these young ladies are saying is SO on point.
One of the first messages I listened to on this subject that actually helped me truly "get it" was by pastor Toure Roberts called 5 keys to your soulmate. This was one of the most powerful and insightful messages I had ever heard on marraige and its true purpose. I begin to have a whole different veiw and understanding of how important it is for your marriage to be in the perfect will of God!

Facts! This is the main reason I am allowing the Lord, to clean, transform, and refine me before I meet the one and get married (and also pray for God also to do the same in your future husband). I want to be whole In Christ and equipped enough to honor a Godly Marriage, one that is aligned with God's will and purpose.

I got saved at 24 and now I’m 56. I have never married, had kids and honestly haven’t been in many relationships, my longest relationship was 6 months in 2004, and I got engaged and called it off because he was not my husband because we would never have been in alignment with ministry! I learned this fact at 26, so I have always viewed men with the mindset that God will bring me to him for purpose and I have NEVER met a man who actually cared about my spirit;just my flesh. I look at people and how they treat each other when they claim they love each other, and I say I’ve never been in love before either. At first, I thought I had commitment issue, but I don’t stay in anything that isn’t nourishing me, so not even the same job for more than 3.5 years. I really live a pretty fearless life and have always trusted GOD! I sometimes think what my life will be like as I am now aging and all alone but I think God will call me home before I am without the help I may need if I get old and sickly!

So trueee!! This is why the Catholic Church places Marriage as a sacrament, giving it very high importance in the Christian life. Marriage isn’t just some contract, it’s a mirror of the trinity!! It takes discernment to know if you’ve been called to the vocation of marriage or singleness, but regardless, the aim is to grow in love of God and neighbor! Not for how cute the couple looks together but for how you can help your spouse grow in holiness.

I pray we all listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit so we may find that good and perfect Will of God for us in our lives!! 🤲🏾
