The proof of his crime relies solely on his autobiography.
When Hunter says that he embellished and lied in his autobiography their case is done. It's not against the law to lie in a book or autobiography. Unlike a civil lawsuit a criminal charge requires proof beyond reasonable doubt. It is reasonable to assume Hunter embellished his autobiography to increase sales. Not a crime.
