After 'suffering' with several cheap and bad kits over the years, a couple of years ago I bought my first IFixit kit (the Manta) and was amazed at the difference in bought quality and selection of bits, it was perfect. Never again would I buy any other bit kit.

I received a kit as a gift. It's definitely really useful when taking any electronics apart

Fun fact: the Mako driver kit's handle can be unscrewed above the serated grip to store up to 2 bits!

I have your Mako kit. Please consider these criticisms and make a tool kit I can really use and love! 1) The driver shaft rolls all over the place when I set it down. The shaft or its large end needs to be hexagon-shaped. 2) The bits are just too short. I can't even disassemble a Sega Dreamcast! There's absolutely nothing special about such a system and it's disappointing that I can't use my go-to tool kit for stuff like that. Around 8 years ago I paid more than $70 for a now-discontinued precision screwdriver tool kit at Lowes. The price had discouraged me for a very long time, but I frequently found that I needed a set with long bits/shafts. I finally bit the bullet and purchased it. I was relieved it was exactly what I needed and I never regretted the purchase. A couple years later, some of the bits were ruined by an ignorant family member. She put the "precision" flat-head bits in a drill and tried to put large screws into wooden pallets. That kit is discontinued, but still has a page on the Lowe's web site with photos and description. "Kobalt 36-Piece Chrome Vanadium SpeedFit Precision Tool Set" - iFixIt can actually one-up this and do even better. I'd probably pay double to secure another one of those sets if I could find it. The Kobalt kit only has long precision bits for phillips and flat-head. It would be really nice if the torx bits were also long. Also I frequently use with the precision needle file bits when cutting holes for HDMI or mini HDMI (DCDigital and other game console HDMI upgrades), but the idea of using the file bits with the "speedfit" shaft is just silly. There's way too much mechanical slop at the connection to the shaft, so I just hold the filing bits directly.

I really love you guys but the bit set I bought years and years ago has one of the most asinine flaws: the driver is completely smooth apart from 3 thin rubber rings. Applying heavy torque is basically impossible. The saving grace in that regard is that you can insert a bar into the hole at the end of the driver which then allows you to apply massive torque even in confined spaces.
Small rant I needed to get out :D Keep on being awesome.

Still no long extension for the Bit Sets. I own the Manta and you cant even fasten a CPU cooler with that. Any deep recessed screws are out of reach too.
