US Netanyahu: Effigy Burnt & US Flag Replaced With Palestinian During Protests In DC

Police deployed pepper spray and demonstrators were taken into custody as thousands of protesters against the war in Gaza converged on Washington to condemn Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit.

Demonstrators filled several blocks as they weaved through the streets of the nation’s capital carrying Palestinian flags and signs with messages such as “arrest Netanyahu” and “end all U.S. aid to Israel.”

Outside Washington’s Union Station, protesters removed American flags and hoisted Palestinian ones in their place to massive cheers in the crowd.

As a Palestinian I'm trying to understand three things: One is, how long are we supposed to be punished for? For how long do Israelis and Americans want to see us suffer? Another hundred years? Forever? Second, what exactly are we being punished for? Is it because we complained about the UN 1947 Partition Plan? Is it because we are upset about the surprise attack Israel carried out in 1967, to conquer the rest of Palestine? And third, why is appropriating our land a form of punishment? Is that written into law somewhere? I'm just confused by our predicament and how it keeps going on and on and on, only because the US Congress makes it possible and Americans think nothing about it. They've made it possible for this conflict to go on for decades on end by the trillions of dollars the US has given to the "Chosen Ones". And they hardly know anything about us. Whenever I tell an American we have the deed, the paperwork, to prove how a particular piece of land, a house, belongs to us they're completely surprised. Somehow the law of private property doesn't apply to us. God forbid you take a grain of sand from any American household but to hell with us Palestinians. Anyone from the Ukraine, or Moldova, or Chicago, or Moscow can come over to our land and take a shit on us. Enough already!
