Microwave Veggie Curry!! | Jamie Oliver's £1 Wonders

I want to celebrate one of the unsung heroes of the kitchen with this incredible curry recipe.... the microwave! Not only is this fast and cheap to make it's also incredibly nutritious with all 5 of your fruit and veg portions - it's a delicious mid week supper for two. Especially if you don't cook much but you love a curry - this one's for you! This recipe is from Jamie's £1 Wonders, available on Channel 4.

i just made this today! it was pretty good, only flaw was, it could have done with a tad more curry powder, possibly 2 heaped teaspoons. i made this in Spain, and it wasnt anywhere near £1, spud cost me £1, onion, ginger, garlic, chick peas, spinach, tom puree, cost me about £2.50
now the rice was quite cheap, possibly about 30p.
all in all about £4 !

Tired this recipe out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised. The tomato paste gives it a sweeter taste than most curries so it does have a very "british" taste to it for the north Americans out there. Taste great, id give it a 4/5 stars but you have to use a sweet potato on the smaller side.

Watching Jamie wrestle with the microwave is hysterical! He forgot to tell us how many watts his microwave has, however; I think 10 minutes would be too long for mine. Jacques Pépin is doing a similar series of super-economical dishes that don't require an oven.
