Weaponized empathy is a thing. When you’re using someone’s empathy to manipulate them to do something against their better judgement it’s wrong.

So, I do think as a people and a society humans need more emotional intelligence and more empathy, however we also as a singular person need to have drawn lines. If we speak about Jesus and put Jesus in the many myths and stories we tell, picking a modern one star wars people would assume Jesus would be a Jedi to many people Jedi= good while sith=evil and from a certain point of view they are correct. Jesus showed great compassion for everyone I'm very sure he felt strong empathy especially towards those who are suffering we have many cartoons and movies and shows that depict Jesus as a compassionate man filled with wisdom beyond his years and mostly in control of his own emotions. Even in the show the chosen it's showing a more humanized version of Jesus and yet he is always mindful of his own thoughts and emotions, we have never seen a version of Jesus stumble we have never seen the man Jesus. Perhaps that's for the best but we can be mindful of our own thoughts and feelings as well as mindful of others feelings there will be times where you will have to compromise another person's feelings in order to express your thoughts. But the world is big, situations change and so do people if they work on changing with everything going on like our so called "social" issues are being paid for and dramatized making it bigger than it should be. We need genuine unconditional love even for our perceived enemies, America has changed a lot and although I am no proper Christian or a servant of any faith even I can see that most Americans are hedonistic even many Christians who would agree to being sinners don't do the work to make the change falling on their interpretation of the Bible or the words of Jesus Christ without taking the steps that Jesus told us to take. so they continue their patterns. I don't know what the real solution is but what I do understand and what I truly know is we are all one people all over the world we are all connected and it pains me to see suffering in the world especially my country spring how our nation is divided and infighting and I don't have answers I don't know how to help others for the long term. I don't know if there are others like me that feel like this, I am lost like many others and only wish blessings on every soul I hope God blessed us hugs us kisses us tell us we are okay because we are all children with big hearts big emotions and our playground is cruel and unfair and we have lost many of our brothers and sisters due to their own situations from suicide to resorting to violent crimes. Hurting one another because we were hurt and we don't have the solutions to deal with our own suffering.

Empathy and tolerance are often confused. The difference is that you deserve what you tolerate.
