I can't believe this isn't talked about as much as it should be. This can be so discouraging if you never knew this.
Thank you Sean, this was one of the most important thing imo.

100% one of the greatest bits of advice. I stopped a cut 2 months in, because I thought I lost all my gains.

Oh, damn. This has literally been my entire existence with bulking, thinking I’m gaining too much fat, then cutting and thinking I am losing too much muscle. Needless to say it’s caused a lot of anxiety and unhappiness.

Can’t believe this is the first time hearing this. Every time I cut I run into this issue and I thought it was more attributed to getting older. This makes so much sense!!

Really needed to hear this as I'm one week into my first cut ever

I like to bump up carbs and calories one day a week to see the muscle fullness in the mirror. I know I could do without it but I have to live in my headspace and this helps me.

And that fullness you get when you jump back onto a surplus is one of the greatest feelings in the world haha

“Trust the process” is absolutely the best advice.

Make a full video on this.
This is the most important topic ever.
After just 2 weeks of a calorie deficit i look like a smaller version of me.
It felt like i lost all my muscles so i quit the deficit.
This has happened to me over 8+ times.
Thanks for this. Wow❤❤❤❤

This should be talked about a lot more, he’s right I just passed the discouraging phase (skinny fat) 3 weeks ago and I’m looking wayy better. Stick to it

It's a very crucial topic and I'll replay it every week during my cut... almost no fitness influencer talks about the details of this phase. Everybody is focusing on where the clicks and views are which is "how to execute which exercise for growing this and that muscle" while a significant number of the viewers are people who are desperately struggling with losing body fat properly, even from >25% ranges...

Incredible advice. EASILY the hardest thing for me to remind myself during a cut. It can be so challenging.

While your skin takes time to tighten up from the fat loss, you’ll find that water will fill the areas where fat used to be stored, so keep in mind that the results of your cut may not fully come through for a little while after the cut has finished. Usually a few weeks into the maintenance phase after, your skin will have mostly adjusted and your muscles will get their fullness back as Sean mentioned. That’s when you fully get to see the fruits of your labour. It takes time but it’s 100% worth it.

I didn't know that. That's good to know because I'm in that phase right now. I'm finally getting rid of the stubborn lower belly fat and pretty close to finally getting abs.

I thought I was going crazy because in some lighting, it looked like I lost so much progress even though I've been working harder.

Sean continues to be one of the most science-based and literature backed health influencers on social media. Absolutely everything that he talks about is verified by actual scientific research. As a doctor, I truly appreciate the no BS Health tips that he shares with people, because the actual truth is not shared enough on these platforms. keep doing what you’re doing Sean. Love from Dr. Nye. ❤💪🏽

Your message is so important for everyone. Not just those trying to cut. It takes time and patience before any noticeable changes can be seen.

both on me and on my friends i've noticed how, during cutting phases, it feels like nothing's happening for months and then you start noticing all the changes coming all at once.
