# East oak cooler

Hey folks! Here is my review on these 2 insulated coolers. Yeti is obviously very well known, but I wanted to see how well this cheaper East Oak cooler would compare against it. I think results were very interesting. Both coolers are great, but give different options based on what you are really looking for in a cooler.

East Oak Cooler can be used as a seat or a stool around camp, has a shorter profile so you can find your beers easier at the bottom, and the lid can come completely off if you want full access. The YETI is a well known, quality cooler, but at a higher price point. Its built like a tank, and can hold the taller wine bottles or 2 Liter sodas unlike the East Oak Cooler, and it has rubber feet to help it not slide around in wet environments.

Hope you all enjoyed!

The east oak is a great cooler on our boat. It stays cold even in the hot sun on the lake, provides extra seating, provides a table for snacks while floating and the double opening makes it easy to get into from any seat. We got ours on a prime day deal, and I'm glad I took the chance on it over a yeti. A few friends bought one after using ours on the lake.

I love my East Oak! I use it everyday from a cooler to a table and even to reach things up high!

Very nice, thank you so much for running this trial👍 im gonna use a cooler to keep food cold, and my van freezer to supply frozen stuff to the cooler.

Another great review Brian. For years the Yeti’s were my go to coolers until I discovered the fantastic world of 12v compressor coolers. I love my ICECO’s with the Secop German compressor with a 5 year warranty. I use them all the time with a Solar generator. I do still use the YETI, I fill it with ice when traveling and use the ice for my adult beverages, thanks for another quality review.

Great review Brian. I have the Yeti Hopper 20 soft cooler and a Grizzly 20 for my hard side. This review may have me convinced to try the East Oak 45 for a larger style cooler. Keep 'em coming. Thanks

Great comparison. The cheaper one definitely had some better features and performed just as well.

Cool video, only thing that wasnt exactly fair in this comparison is since the yeti needed to be opened to drain the water you let in hot air everyday that definitely had an impact hard to say how much. Most cooler manufacturers say not to drain the water

The East Oak shows good results, but it has a wider footprint of ~21" side to side and just 15" tall. That footprint takes up about 350" of space. Also, it's width will make it harder to find a spot in a compact vehicle, and make it harder to pack other things around it. As for a 15" stool, I like to sit a little higher. The Yeti is 17"x14"x18". It has a lot smaller footprint (~240"), and may even fit on the floor behind a passenger's seat. When it comes to getting the most out of packing I like to go with square things, they seem to fit better together. However, the best would be a lot of soft pliable bags (duffle bags, knapsacks, etc.), but they just don't seem to keep ice very well. Thanks for the video, East Oak has a unique place to fill, but not in my vehicle.

Round is a hard no for me. Profile is everything when I use something that is portable.

Now do a test where your kids forget to close the lid. LOL. I’ve watched a couple videos on the Ozark Trail vs Yeti but they’re still twice as much as the East Oak

Does the East Oak 25qt float? Be nice to have it floating around full of beers in the pool!

I live in Syria, one of the poorest countries, I don't know why I'm watching this video, maybe because I'm amazed that Americans pay $250 for cold water😂😅

Other than the one cooler looking like a camping toilet…:). What is their logic on the shape? Seems round might be worse for fixed size items. Same amount of cans per cooler? Maybe you have to be an efficient cooler packer….

You could have weighed each cooler empty and then total weight at the beginning and every day.🧊
