Start a RAM PUMP with a DRILL PUMP

The drive pipe of the ram pump is not always easy to prime. This pipe must be full of water for the ram pump to work. Any air in the pump will stop the pump from cycling. I am using a drill pump to fill the drive pipe with water so it will start a siphon right away with little effort. If you are going to be installing a ram pump I highly recommend that you use a drill pump to get the drive pipe full of water.

They should make the drive shaft of that pump 1/4 hex

so in thoery you could use this not only to fidd the drive pipe but also the delivery pipe meaning for less clicking of the valve to get going

It reminds me ob starting your microhydro with a shopvac

I thought you gonna use it to fill the delivery pipe. If it has a decent lift, it could save on the 100 clicks to start the siphon on its own.

What if we use a ram pump in a loop by using a water pump that doesn't lift water? The motion of the water runs the ramp pump and that captures massive air pressure in a tank. Is the air pressure greater than the water pump?

Can You start a ram pump from the source's overflow landing on the spot You tap to prime/start it?

Will flowing in the tap outtake spot being hit by continuous water after starting screw it up Bud?

Love Your vids!

That's too cool. Get/make a garden hose to NPT fitting/adapter so that you can connect the output of the drill pump to the threads on the top of the waste valve. You can fill both the drive pipe and the delivery pipe by pumping water down in through the top of the waste valve. Using the ball valves you can first fill just the drive pipe, then fill just the delivery pipe. Might save you that 100+ pushes on the waste valve with your "land to house" branded custom made push-stick!

2:10 or since you have to have a water source that's higher, don't bend your pipe down

If you had to bend your pipe down instead of doing that you could just stack Up some stones to create a small damn to lift the water level up a little bit

I mean you literally have flowing water coming from high to low and you're trying to figure out how to get it in a tube

And your answer is to use a power pump to pump it uphill

Talk about working against yourself and fighting as hard as you have to

Could you also use this to pre-fill your delivery pipe so that you don't have to spend so much time cycling the ram valve manually?
