I rode the SERA enduro circuit on a 1974 TM 400. Finishing 1st in my open class and 16 over all. With over 500 rider/member out of LA, MS, AR, AL, FL. It was way ahead of its time. Today I’m 73 and riding a 2021 KTM EXC-F Six Day It weights almost the same and has about the same HP but the Suzuki came on like a pissed off Grizzly with the front wheel going through the tree tops. The KTM is a calm trained Black Bear.

Man that thing sounds great!  I can still see Roger Decoster racing the Carlsbad 500 GP on a factory version of that bike.  I had a 1974 TM 125 back then and being a 13 year old kid I rode that thing until the wheels fell off literally.  They don't build them like that anymore and you're fortunate to have such a nice example.  Thank you for the trip down memory lane.

I had one as a kid. Nothing could keep up with the 400 in a drag race! As far as handling, you just pointed it and hoped it went that way…

Great looking /sounding bike but handled like a shopping cart full of bowling balls going down a hill, with one wheel missing. Had a ''light switch'' power band that would hit at any given on how cold/hot...etc. Difficult bike to ride hard.
