Just once I would like to hear someone explain why Faustina’a diary and devotion was twice condemned by the Holy Office and then suddenly rehabilitated by JP2 and instituted as a feast day. And don’t just use the dismissive Wikipedia quote that there was a bad translation and offer no further information.

I'm heavily disappointed and saddened to see this channel post about a false devotion and teaching called divine mercy... this false devotion has not only been condemned 3 times by 2 separate popes. Once by Pope Pius XII and twice by Pope John XXIII but it is a mockery of our Lords Most Sacred Heart. The Divine Mercy revelation by Saint Faustina is a PRIVATE Revelation, and no one is required to accept or believe in any Private Revelation, not Divine Mercy, Not Lourdes, and not even the Miracle of Fatima. So if you choose to Not Believe in the Divine Mercy message, great, that is your right. But do not pretend to know what is the gift of grace to others who do trust in Jesus and the Divine Mercy Message. Jesus said in this Divine Mercy message, according to Saint Faustina, that this great devotion to Christ's Divine Mercy is His Last Chance for many souls, and we are asked to pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy to save many from hell. Fatima told us to Pray the Holy Rosary, every day. A good actual Catholic will probably do both. But no one is required to pray the rosary or the Divine mercy message as each is a Private Revelation we may reject, as some priests actually do.

This was all condemned twice by the Holy Office and only brought back with the modernists JP II. It contradict Church teaching and undermines the BVM the Rosary and the Sacred Heart devotion. Should be avoided by Catholics as it is a novus ordo church devotion.

Financial assistance for the unemployed is not a false compassion for the lazy, as indictaed by the priest. People would rather work. With all due respect to the priest, he receives financial assistance from his congregation, something St Paul did not accept. On Divine Mercy, it is God given, without limit, all one must do is sincerely repent and avail of the sacrament of reconciliation, which is God's unlimited love for us and our failings, given without any strings attached.

Disappointed by the tone of this priest. There’s so much shame attached to receiving aid from the state and those who receive it will tell you they’d rather be making their own money if they didn’t face so many physical and mental barriers. Couldn’t he have gone after the corrupt bankers, politicians and large corporations who receive their fair share of handouts and bribes at our cost?
