Andrew Bolt unleashes on Chris Bowen for vehicle standards ‘con’

Sky News host Andrew Bolt exposes the “green lies” pushed by global warming extremists within the Albanese government.

Energy and Climate Change Minister Chris Bowen has released a New Vehicle Emissions Standard which will force vehicle manufacturers to produce more fuel-efficient cars for consumers.

Mr Bowen claims the policy means consumers will "save about $1000 per year per car".

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries estimates his ‘ute tax’ will instead drive up the price of Australia’s most popular car, the Ford Ranger, by $6000.

“But it’s again, a con – I think Bowen has no idea what ‘save’ actually means,” Mr Bolt said.

“It's this kind of green fakery that's also helping them make us all poorer too ... and it's time you called out the spin of the politicians trying to hide that fact.”

I was in a luxury car dealership today. They told me that no one is interested in buying electric cars and based on how slow their sales were for electric cars over the past couple of months, they were seriously concerned for their brand.
They said by far the greater percentage of their enquiries and sales, were for petrol cars.
Why would anyone want an electric car, and who do Government think they are to be telling us what we should be buying and what we shouldn't?
I suspect this Government will learn the hard way. They just don't seem to be good at reading what the Australian public want.
Again they think they can manipulate and dictatorships a free free market, with Government policy. Madness!

EV's cost more to buy, more to insure, more to repair, lose value at the fastest rate and require a new battery after a few years. The market place has spoken (around the globe) so the Energy Minister can do as he pleases but Electric powered cars are dead in the water.

Andrew. To add to the laundry list of what is wrong with EVs, please mention the risk to life and limb ! Battery only needs a small amount of damage to explode and catch fire and is also EXTREMELY difficult to extinguish when ablaze ! Check out worldwide instances of EVs which are spontaneously combusting !! Is it any wonder that insurance companies are backing away from insuring the damn things ??

Here in New Zealand our newly elected National government just got rid of the ute tax which was put in place by our previous Labour government. By the sounds of it Labour Australia is now also attempting to introduce the same crap we thankfully rejected...
