I struggle very often to find the genre of my books but usually I end up finding it…

But there is a story that exist since many years already (I am rewriting it so it’s not published yet) and I couldn’t find a genre to it.
It talks about investigation, religion (especially Catholic religion) and a little bit of science fiction but more like in the past (I don’t know how to explain it but basically, we discover at the end a secret about humans origin, so Adam and Eve, that comes from technology and time travel but it’s set during the beginning of the human kind)

I have fictional characters in it but also semi fictional characters such as Jesus Christ (because we aren’t sure if he really existed) or real people who died but who come back as ghost in the story (such as Joan of Arc) but to HELP the heroes, so it’s not an horror book.
And even if I am basing my book on the real events of the Bible, I am having my own interpretation in it (the time travel thing with Adam and Eve for example), I have a whole universe, creatures names and ranks based on what we know about Catholic religion but also on other religions and beliefs/theories. And the whole book is not only about, it’s a setting for the real plot that talks about a kidnapping for revenge and an investigation for this kidnapping.

So I don’t know which genre it is…what genre talks about religion but in a fictional and original way ?
