We gave up Belle Isle for this... :( Some insanely narrow sections (even if you based it on Formula E standards) and extremely bumpy sections. Overall it's gonna be a tricky one for the drivers. expecting more caution laps than green laps, but hoping I'll be surpirsed.

Should be a good yard sale on “slightly” used front wings after this race 😂

As a Detroit resident, I can confirm the roads are 10x more bump filled than you see here. This would be considered smooth in some parts of the city

How they race on such atrocious a road surface is beyond me.

That looks like a really fun go kart track. Nothing like taking a high end race car and putting it on narrow, bumpy city streets.

This is going to be interesting. I think we will see the softest suspension settings ever. Going to be a real test to see who can make their car compliant and fast. McLaughlin has a lot of experience on tracks like this in Australia, in completely different cars obviously but he knows about absorbing bumps. I imagine he will rise to the top.

This will be a wreck laden race, by the looks of it. Tons of bumps near corners and nowhere to go if there are cars nearby.

One week after Indianapolis and these guys are trapped between walls in the bumpiest track ever. . .
Unacceptable.

Cool motocross track. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised on Sunday.

Back in the 90's when indycar was a real series with professional management this track would have never flown. horrible layout, worse surface (bumps) and non-existent sightlines. i used to run trans am series on indycar weekends as a support series and the street tracks were carefully thought out, well executed. this joke of a track would have never come close to passing inspection. nowadays if you have a big enuf check you get a race no matter how ridiculous the circuit is... sad

There was a reason why racing left downtown and moved to Belle Isle

Belle Isle was better. No one disagrees

This will be an iRacing cameo single split 26 drivers race with over 50% cautions. I cannot stand the wait.

Palou has it 1000% right. This course is too tight for Indy Cars! It's built to wreck people.

This circuit gives me old Surfer's Paradise Australia vibes. Man, it's so narrow through there.

This weekend is going to be a treat, F2, F1 and Indy. Im too addicted to motorsports, and i couldn't be any happier.

I'm anxious to see how the double pit lane is going to work out during the race. Since it's never been done before, I'm predicting chaos.

Leigh mentions porpoising for the first time in Indy Car. 5:51

Well this will be a yellow / red flag filled race. That pit out is going to be horrid in the race.

Couch experts on social media be like:
<Couch experts: F1 and Indycar shouldn't do late red flag restars because it's just a wreckfest and dangerous (e.g. Melbourne and the Indy 500)
<Also couch experts: Monaco and St. Pete were the best races so far this year
