Doctor, have you ever known of overly excessive swelling interfering with the success of a fat transfer? I had a deep plane facelift one month ago and immediately it was evident my left side had been pulled painfully excessively tight with swelling becoming twice that of the right, the physical tight tension and discomfort being difficult to endure, while the right has been a breeze in comparison. The fat transfer was mostly done to fill cheek hollows, right cheek is looking good, though a definite hollowness returning to the left cheek. Does fat tend to perish or even slump when very excessive swelling is present?
