Business ethics, or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), is on everyone’s lips. In this animated video clip, we want to ask: What is CSR and how can CSR be realized in practice?

Four steps can provide us with some insight for the practical implementation of CSR: First, a well-founded missions statement; second, the identification of relevant topics in exchange with the stakeholders; third, the orientation towards general standards such as the Global Compact or the ISO 26.000; and fourth, the strategic implementation in all departments of the company.

Corporate Social Responsibility is then there where it belongs. It is implemented in an integrative way and related to the core business of the company.

Implementing or practicing Corporate Social Responsibility is a huge help in our community, in our environment and its social impact. As what you’ve said, risk and compliance management are only one aspect of corporate responsibility which means how can companies contribute to a good society through good business practices and values. Hence, you mentioned about the mission statement of the company, and you are absolutely right. Through mission statement, companies are able to manage and control their activities that are friendly in the environment and society. It defines the values and impacts of a company towards community. CSR is a good business model for the betterment of everyone.
