I think the pricing model is MS Azure's Achilles' heel. AWS has the most straightforward and transparent pricing model, Google has the most expensive pricing model and MS seems to have the most opaque pricing model - or to put it differently to work out MS Azure pricing model you either have to opt for voodoo or a team of researchers, statisticians and mathematicians to tell you what Azure service will cost. If MS could get the pricing right, both in terms of transparency and the amount, there is no reason why it couldn't take the top spot on Cloud Service provision soon. Otherwise they'll need more lobbing from the White House (allegedly) to sell their services.
