Pre War Märklin locomotive - Abandoned model train - Restoration

Here is a new video !!
This is a R-910 abandoned model train produced by Märklin between 1938 and 1955.
I bought it at a flea market.
Each part was pretty much seized.
The engine was totally blocked and I thought I couldn't bring it back to life...
I spent one entire day trying to fix it.
The front and rear counterweights were originally riveted then I had to make threads to fix them again.
I found some pictures of old labels on the internet.
Please watch till the end to see this Pre-war rusty locomotive in action !
By supporting the channel you help me make more of these video and find more amazing items.
I hope you'll enjoy this restoration.
Thanks a lot for watching !

I was holding my breath while you were applying the gold. Gorgeous end result though, these old toys have a charm that modern model trains just can't match.

A toy is only happy when it is loved. No batteries needed, and still so much joy to give! It can't thank you, so I will. Thank you!

I just love to watch a real craftsman at work and seeing your restorations from start to finish always gives me such a thrill. You are a great craftsman because you see the potential of your projects from how they are to how they could be and then proceed the long journey to make your projects new again.

Schade, das es solches Spielzeug heute nicht mehr gibt. Schöne alte Zeit. Danke für die Restauration. ---- It's a shame that such toys no longer exist today. Good old days. Thanks for the restoration.

As somebody who collects Marklin trains myself (post-war electric HO gauge), I thank you for giving my train's "daddy" or "grand-daddy" a new lease on life.

BEAUTIFUL WORK!!!

When people like me look at the before pictures and think "no way it can be brought back to life", you prove us wrong. And thank goodness you do! I thoroughly enjoy your restorations.

I have the exact same model. My father gave it to me when I was 10. He played with the train when he was a young boy... it's one of the few toys he has left from his childhood. Nice to see one saved for future generations.

Es muy gratificante ver como objetos que inicialmente aparecen como ya "muertos" y que su unico destino es el cubo de la chatarra, gracias a personas como usted vuelven a cobrar "vida"
La locomotora y el tender han quedado preciosas

I like to imagine the two little dudes own a railway, and need more engines, so they hire this guy to restore them ones, and as payment he gets to upload videos on the restoration. Awesome restoration btw!

Wonderful; magic! I bought a Lionel train set from the early 80's or 70's. It has plastic parts, but the guts of it are metal, simple controler etc.. Simple is best, especially for young kids today, it teaches them mindulness and opens the door to the wonderful world of the "Imagination"; the best "nation"!
