Afghanistan, March 2018. During a special operation to search for Taliban weapons, a detachment of US Army Sergeant John Kinley is ambushed. Only John himself, who was wounded, and the local translator Ahmed, who is collaborating with the Americans, remain alive. Waking up in his homeland, Kinley does not remember how he managed to survive, but he understands that it was Ahmed who saved his life by dragging him through dangerous territory. Now the feeling of guilt haunts John, and he decides to return for Ahmed and his family, whom the Taliban are intensively looking for in Afghanistan.
