Plants vs. Zombies is a video game franchise developed by PopCap Games, a subsidiary of Electronic Arts. The series follows the affiliates of David "Crazy Dave" Blazing as they use his plants to defend against a zombie invasion, led by Dr. Edgar George Zomboss.

This Plants Vs. Zombies Movie showcases the Pea Shooter Game (豌豆射手) where you can combine bootleg PVZ plants like peashooter and chomper to create fusion plants like Fire Peashooter and Cob Cannon. This ripoff game has so many combinations of plants as well as a knockoff Zomboss that it makes for a great Plants Vs. Zombies Movie!

As a Chinese person, there are a lot of hilarious references to Chinese pop culture in the game. Like with the nba zombies and the weird melonpult spikeweed fusion, it’s a reference to Cai Xukun, who is a singer that became a meme due to his audition video to an idol survival programme, where he sang, danced, rapped and played basketball at the same time. The plant thing has chicken hands to reference the song he used, “只因你太美” (because you’re too beautiful)，which people decided sounds like “鸡你太美”，literally translating to “ chicken you’re too beautiful”, hence the chicken

What baffles me is how much effort went into this clear knockoff. With all the variations, it has more plant types than PvZ 1 - about as many as PvZ 2 without the Premium content. And there's even some unique ideas, like the lvl 3 Kernelpult creating a temporary wall.

If anyone is interested, the basketball holding zombies at 6:28 are a reference to a popular chinese meme "ji ni tai mei" where a pop star Cai Xukun dribbled a basketball before breaking into a dance to the song Ji Ni Tai Mei ("because you are beautiful") which earned mockery both for his weird dance, and because the way he pronounces "ji" makes it sound like he is saying the chinese word for chicken (making it sound like "chicken you are so beautiful")

I think the reason levels end too early is because it only checks if the last zombie to spawn in the level is dead or not. not if all zombies are dead.

these are lowkey my favorite type of mobile games honestly. They're bootlegs at the surface but have something going on under there that is pretty unique
