I’ve experienced the same thing, and still no answers from neurologist....this video is EXACTLY like what I’m experiencing

I had this and it’s because of the fast and slow twitch muscles being disproportionate. Your slow (tonal) muscles are required for balance and need to sync up with the fast twitch power muscles. When ur legs shake like that hold it until it stops. Don’t be afraid of the shakiness continue to work thru it and overtime they’ll shake less and less. I know it is a scary feeling but trust me there’s nothing wrong with most of you. Hope this helps. God bless.

Me too. Exactly that. As the 2021 New Year rolled in I was in the ER for uncontrollable dry heaving that was suffocating me. Found out it was due to a stomach ulcer and my body’s smooth muscle spasms to “protect” the area got out of hand, too much protection. But the ulcer saved my life because it was discovered that my iron levels were so low and had been for a couple years as I gave up and just accepted my body’s slow decline. I knew my iron was low but not that low and I didn’t know how important iron is. I have a history of menstrual anemia. I was turned away from donating blood two decades ago because my blood wasn’t heavy enough to drop to the bottom of the water. But last Christmas, I was in real danger of death and had no idea. The leg shaking was one of the first symptoms I experienced 10+ years ago. The PT couldn’t help but said “going down stairs is more difficult because it’s a controlled fall.” The neurologist could figure it out. My fibromyalgia doctor said it was just another mysterious fibromyalgia symptom. And the GYN could see any link between her specialty (menstral anemia) and anything to do with someone’s legs shaking. But the symptoms got better sometimes. My DH kept telling me it was muscle atrophy due to my bedridden life. Yet no other muscles were showing signs of atrophy. And of course, to make life more complicated, I can’t take iron supplements by mouth nor sublingual because it causes my intestines to feel like someone is dragging a rake over the soft tissues. It doubles me over. I was given 2 Ferritin iron infusions (small rust colored IV bag) in the hospital during the next two days and then got set up with a hematologist who ordered 4 more once a week for a month. After that, the blood work showed that my iron levels did not rocket sky high. It merely went up enough to be considered “in range.” Barely. One of the first improvements was being able to walk down stairs without shaking. Obviously, I had not been exercising to strengthen muscles and i had not added any nerve effecting medication in those few weeks. Low iron was the cause and iron infusions were what helped heal many symptoms. But my iron levels have stayed low, barely in range this whole time. And many of the symptoms, including the shaking while walking down stairs, have returned. I think it started back right before H. Ida hit. Evacuation and displacement doesn’t help me with my own “self-care.” Now I’m back on track to get new blood work and hopefully my hematologist will see fit to keep me on a quarter-year or half-year schedule for infusions because apparently no mater how much red meat and dark greens I eat my body doesn’t absorb iron from food and doesn’t hold onto the iron it has. I don’t like to drown myself in internet diagnostics but I did discover that iron is the (or one of) main components of carrying oxygen to the rest of the body. So my numb toes, my aching legs and restless legs, my lack of healing for small nicks or bruises, my hair falling out and not regrowing, my fatigue, my heaviness (I’m not at all over weight), and my “shaking while going down stairs” legs were because parts of my body were truly suffocating. And I learned years ago the the “normal” ranges don’t always apply to every person. So maybe I need more than the bare minimum. It’s impossible to get one doctor to talk to another even within the same health system. You have to advocate for yourself. Whether your issue is also low iron or it’s something else, your body is trying to tell you something isn’t right. Don’t give up. It’s hard when you’re weary. But like me, you may never know if something small is a sign of true danger. I hope this helps someone out there. God bless our club that meets at the top of the stairs.

I've had this problem for almost 8 years. Here's what solved the problem.

- Calcium magnesium, zinc D3 mineral supplements 3x a day after meal

- if experiencing vertigo, try vertigo komplex anti dizziness tablet.( once a day after meal)

Hope this helps. Stay strong dude 🙏🙏🙏

Hi all— I’m not great at keeping up with comments, but I do appreciate hearing other people’s experiences! As of now, I have been diagnosed with Lupus, Dystonia and Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). I haven’t been to a doctor or keeping up with my health like I should— but I will keep everyone updated on here if I do find more definitive answers!

I face this situation whenever I got hard cold(all my body start hurting, fiver, cold, running nose....), when I walk down stairs, my legs start shaking (immediately when they touch the stairs), but when I go up stairs, its normal, nothing happen (just feelings like bit tired).

I had this same issue for 7 or 8 years. It would improve if I took half hour walks 3 or 4 times a week. I'm 57 and I started eating a plant based diet 3 months ago. The shaky leg issue along with other muscle aches and pains I had all ended with in weeks of me eating my new diet. I won't kid you it's a boring diet and most people would never eat the veggies I eat but it really worked for me.

This happens to me everyday. I don't know why. My friends tell me about it and I say I don't know why I shake.

Any new news? This is the only thing on the internet that explains exactly what I’m trying to figure out. What is it!! I have this problem

5 years I struggled with this exact issue. Semi-monthly Iron Infusions were recommended and it solved that symptom temporarily. I had other medical concerns as well but for this one, the actual problem was my extreme loss of blood every month caused by endometriosis, cysts and fibroids resulted in Severe Microcytic Anemia and Pernicious Anemia. I just had a complete hysterectomy 30 days ago and now I feel like a brand new woman. No longer needing Iron Infusions or B-12 injections. This was the only video I found that perfectly demonstrated what was happening to me. Thanks!

I’ve spent hours trying to figure this out. This is exactly what happens to me except I will fall so I’ll just sit down. Yesterday I went down the steps backwards and it helped a little lol

I do the exact same thing. Took a few months to get figured out. Doctors finally discovered i had a spinal cord injury and i didnt even know it. Have a neurolgist check you for clonus and hyper reflexes.

Hi Jessica, I am walking down stairs just like you were in this video. I also have intention tremor in my left hand and poor coordination in left arm and leg. I know it has been some time since you uploaded this but I would appreciate advice on what your diagnosis and treatment approach was, including what was beneficial. Thank you so much.

This started happening to me along with a lot of other strange nerve related issues after I started antidepressants decades ago. Smoking marijuana made it ten times worse.

I am experiencing the exact same thing at the moment. It's been five years for me now and I'm still not diagnosed.
22 and can't work, study or go out anymore.. I keep falling when I walk.
I had a tickbite once, but doctors don't really seem to help me figuring this out. Maybe you had one too?
Hope you are doing better now!

Just throwing this out there, I have Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia, SPG5a. For 4 years I had doctors doing blood tests, MRI scans, and other tests. I see comments where people's doctors told them it's hyperthyroidism, vitamin deficiency... Same things they told me. I finally got a neurologist that knew about rare diseases, and had a DNA test ordered for me, and it came up I have a mutated gene, that causes HSP.
