As an addict, this is literally exactly the cycle of trying to quit. Trying to quit might be easy for some, but for others, it's impossible and seems like its absolute torture. Ive tried to quit and the longest ive gone has only been 3 months. Its hard to quit smoking when you're surrounded by other smokers aswell. Quitting is the best thing to do and you can avoid starting at all, do so. Smoking is a very deadly addiction and its a very hard to get out of the habit once you make it an usual thing. You're not only addicted to the nic but the constant hand to mouth movement and constant need to suck on something, you crave the burn. Ive been smoking for years and everytime i have to go without smokes i will literally dream about it, ill wake up in coldsweats and its honestly scary. Ive literally drooled over a cigarette because my addiction is that bad.

When my grandma was alive, she quit smoking after 50 years. I quit after ten years. It wasn't that hard for me or my grandma, but drinking was a little harder for me though. I guess it just depends on the person.

For everyone who has never smoked. Dont. I was stupid enough to smoke when I was a security guard. Even though I havent smoked in years, the cravings never go away. The physical addiction goes away after just a couple weeks, but the psychological addicition never goes away because of how long it takes for the negative effects of smoking to appear, your brain never fully connects the two even if you do know the risks. rarely a day goes by that I dont think about grabbing a pack and smoking, even just a couple. And I dont think those cravings will ever truly go away.
