How Much Did Our Sprinter Van Conversion Cost? | Van Build Cost Breakdown | Van Build Budget

Since uploading our van tour video we've had loads of questions about the cost of our build, what tools we used and how we achieved the overall finish. We thought it would be useful to run through the costs in a video to help anyone who's in the midst of a build and has no idea about budgeting for a van conversion - we certainly didn't!

From starting out as complete amateurs (literally didn't own more than a pair of screwdrivers between us) to building our own tiny home on wheels we've learned so much about construction and DIY but one thing we didn't realise we'd learn so much about was budgeting for such a big project, making compromises and understanding how quickly money can disappear.

Sorry that this video isn't very visual but hopefully it helps anyone who is currently planning and budgeting for their build and wants to achieve a high-end finish like ours :)

It just can't get better than this. Thanks a million for your patience to detail and your willing to share. It is an immense help to me as hopefully in three or so weeks I will have found my van. Would you like to hazard a guess as to how many hours of work to complete the project, excluding the search for a van. Irrespective of how long it took, you have a beautiful campervan, congratulations on a great job, well done.

My build cost the same (ish) but I gave up writing it down so that I didn't cry so much. Having said that, it's finished (Van tour coming soon) and we couldn't be happier with it. I was surprised how much glue and screws and things add up to... The bigger things were not a surprise as we thought of those in advance. The other joy of finishing... No more trips to BandQ

Am curious, what made you change from the bench seat to fixed/ pull out bed option? We have a Murphy bed and just checking our options etc.

Did it really take so long to make this video that James needed a snack half way through? :) Not the most exciting subject to talk about but you two made it entertaining. I wish I'd kept a record of my build cost. I did have a wad of Wickes receipts!! Fortunately I had all the tools I needed which saved a few quid and most mechanical repairs I do myself.
