Adam Driver deserves an Oscar for his performance as Henry McHenry, he really does. This scene is one of the most incredible scenes in the whole movie. His acting range is incredible.

This is one of the most effective climaxes ive seen in years. "Now you have nothing to love" sung to the tune of "we love each other so much" kills me

The actor playing Annette in this scene was spectacular. Overshadowed Driver which is a very difficult thing to do, especially as a young child.

"Now you have nothing to love" She's no longer his puppet anymore.

So glad I gave this movie a second chance. It wasn’t until this scene I realised why she was a puppet, because both her mother and father were using her as a means to an end, controlling her. Her mother using her as a vessel to enact revenge and her father exploring her talents for profit. It wasn’t until she spoke and confessed that she finally broke free and became her own true self.

Also the puppet was a type of marionette doll, ‘Marionette’ sounds almost exactly like ‘Baby Annette’ - this movie is a masterpiece

This final scene was incredible. The part where Adam says "can't I love you?" And devyns character says "no, not really daddy, " had so much weight behind it. It basically implied that he was never capable of truly loving anyone. He was only capable of using people for what they had to offer. Beautiful performance by them both. *Chef's kiss*

As dazzling as much of the film is, it was this final scene that made it great. It just sums everything up and makes clear what this film is truly about: how people can use "passionate love" to justify selfish and truly vile behavior, and how that's not real love at all. "Now you have nothing to love, indeed. And I just have to say that kid is astounding.

This is still making me shiver months after I've seen it. What a scene. Her fatalism, sincerity, the mere excuses of an abusive father. Strong climax!

This film has such a brutal, rough energy. Like it's the dress rehearsal for some other thing but that other thing doesn't really matter, because this is everything. The emotion and energy is all here.

when she said "now you have nothing to love" it brings me back all of a sudden to ann and henry's "we love each other" song because it has the same tone in it but sad truth, he really has nothing to love anymore. a masterpiece of a musical film!

Both performances in this scene made me cry. What a powerful young actress!

That scene when he said "Goodbye Annette" while looking through the door is truly heartbreaking.

He thought attention was love, that's why he was a comedian and why he despaired when the fans canceled him. When he said "stop watching me", he was giving up on the only kind of love he understood. He knew he didn't deserve it anymore.

I just remember sobbing so hard at this scene. Why on earth is he getting ignored for this role.

Extremely raw and emotional with almost no cheesiness.

I was totally not expecting to cry like I did here. This film completely took my breath away.

It’s so haunting that “You have nothing to love” is to the tune of “We love each other so much.” What a magnificent film.
